The Koningin Wilhelminastraat and the Prins Hendrikstraat are located in the still quiet neighborhood called Veerallee within walking distance of the historic center of Zwolle, the station and the, at that time, busy Willemsvaart. The street lies parrallel to the Prins Hendrikstraat, where the houses are also decorated with pure Art Nouveau and Jugendstil elements, such as the special stone tablets in the facades.

The 4 townhouses in which Hotel Fidder is located were built in 1905 by the renowned architect Broekema from Kampen. Build in the period 1905-1906 in the Art Nouveau style.
It wasn’t until 1985 that it was turned into a hotel, when Hennie Fidder had just bought one of the townhouses and started a lodge a year earlier.
He bought two neighboring townhouses which he also renovated in its original Jugendstil design. Today it is a deluxe 3 star hotel with 22 unique rooms offering guests from all over the world a very special and comfortable stay away from home.
