Privacy Statement

This privacy statement applies to Hotel Restaurant Fidder, owned and operated by V.O.F. Hotel Restaurant Fidder. This statement describes how we collect and use data you provide to us through our website (www.hotelfidder.nl) and in person at the hotel. It also outlines the choices you have regarding the use of your personal data and how you can access and update this information.


Data Collection

The categories of personal data we collect include, but are not limited to:
• Your first name, last name, email address, telephone number, home address, and identification document number;
• Credit card details (card type, credit card number, cardholder name, expiration date, and security code);
• Information about your stay, including arrival and departure dates, special requests, and notes regarding your service preferences (including room preferences, facilities, or other services used);
• Information you provide relating to your marketing preferences or participation in surveys, contests, or promotions.

You always have the option to decide which personal data (if any) you wish to share with us. If you choose not to provide certain data, this may affect transactions with us. (We currently do not send newsletters and will not use your data for such purposes. If this changes in the future, you will have to actively subscribe to receive them.)


Data We Collect Automatically

When you use our website, we also collect data automatically. This includes information such as language settings, location, device settings, device operating system, log data, usage duration, requested URL, status report, user agent (browser version details), operating system, result (viewer or booker), and search history. We may also collect data through cookies. This information is used to optimize our website and is anonymized, showing only totals of the mentioned data.


Data Provided During Check-In

The check-in form is used to verify your identity and to execute our agreement with you during your stay.
This is required by law, in accordance with Article 438 of the Dutch Criminal Code. Failure to provide the requested data will result in being unable to stay at our premises.

Summary of Article 438:
Anyone providing overnight accommodation as part of their business may face a penalty of up to one month’s detention or a second-category fine if they:

  1. Fail to request a valid travel or identity document upon the guest’s arrival;
  2. Do not maintain a register, or fail to promptly record the guest’s name, occupation, residence, and arrival date, along with the details of the provided document, as well as the departure date;
  3. Refuse to present the register upon request by the mayor or an appointed official.

This does not apply to accompanying spouses, minor children, or travel groups.
Your data will be kept in our records for the legally required retention period. Your information will only be shared with third parties as specified in sections G and H below.


Purposes of Processing

We use your personal data for the following purposes:
A. Reservations: To complete and process your online booking.
B. Customer Service: To provide customer support.
C. Guest Reviews: We may use your contact details to invite you to write a guest review after your stay. These reviews help other travelers choose accommodations that suit their needs. If you submit a review, it may be published on our website.
E. Other Communications: We may contact you by email, post, phone, or SMS, depending on the contact details you provide. This may be for the following reasons:

  • a. To respond to your requests or inquiries.
  • b. If you have not completed an online reservation, we may send a reminder to continue with the booking process.
  • c. After using our services, we may send you a survey or invite you to leave feedback about your experience with our website.
    F. Analysis, Improvements, and Research: We use personal data for research and analysis to improve our services and website content. This may involve third-party processors, with results shared anonymously in aggregated form.
    G. Security, Fraud Detection, and Prevention: We use personal data to prevent fraud and other unlawful activities, to investigate incidents, and to ensure user authentication. Such data may be shared with law enforcement or external advisors.
    H. Legal Obligations: In certain cases, we may use personal data to handle legal disputes, comply with laws and regulations, enforce agreements, or respond to lawful requests from authorities.

Legal Basis

• For purposes A and B, we rely on the execution of a contract. Using your data is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations, e.g., processing your online booking.
• For purposes C-H, we rely on legitimate interests, such as improving our products and services, ensuring website functionality, and preventing fraud. We always seek to balance your rights and interests with ours.
• For purpose H, we may also rely on compliance with applicable laws.
• Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before processing your data for direct marketing.

International Data Transfers

The transfer of personal data as described may include transfers to countries outside the European Union that do not have the same level of data protection. Security

BeCurious BV will take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against loss, unauthorized access, or unlawful processing (such as unauthorized disclosure or modification). The security measures depend on the services provided by V.O.F. Hotel Restaurant Fidder, as outlined in the Agreement. Upon request, BeCurious BV will provide a reasonable overview of the implemented measures relevant to the services.
However, BeCurious BV cannot guarantee that the security is effective under all circumstances.
V.O.F. Hotel Restaurant Fidder will only provide personal data to BeCurious BV after confirming that the required security measures are in place. V.O.F. Hotel Restaurant Fidder is responsible for complying with the agreed measures. (See section "Sharing Data with Third Parties" at the bottom of the page.)

Sharing Data with Third Parties

Hotel Restaurant Fidder will only share your personal data with third parties under the following circumstances:
